Practice areas
Protecting your family, your assets, and your legacy.
Wills and trusts
A will states who receives your property and who will carry out your wishes. A trust can do more: it can manage assets over time, provide for a child or grandchild, and in many cases help your family avoid delay and expense later.
I’ll help you decide which tools fit your situation, and prepare documents such as:
- Wills, including guardian designations for minor children
- Revocable living trusts
- Irrevocable trusts
- Trusts for children, grandchildren, and other loved ones
- Updates to existing wills and trusts after life changes
Estate planning
A complete estate plan covers more than what happens after you pass away. It also protects you during your lifetime if illness or injury leaves you unable to make decisions. I’ll help you put these pieces in place:
- Durable powers of attorney for financial matters
- Healthcare directives and healthcare proxies
- Beneficiary designation reviews for retirement accounts and insurance
- Planning to reduce taxes and protect assets
- Periodic plan reviews as your family and finances change
Probate and estate administration
After a loved one dies, the executor or administrator has to settle the estate. The process involves court filings, notices, debts, taxes, and distributions, all at a time when the family is grieving.
I guide executors, administrators, and families through each step with care and efficiency, including:
- Probating the will with the County Surrogate's Court
- Administering estates when there is no will
- Collecting and valuing assets and paying debts
- New Jersey inheritance tax filings, where required
- Trust administration and final distributions to beneficiaries
Business formation and planning
Drawing on my background as a corporate lawyer and financial analyst, I help business owners build, structure, and protect their companies, and plan for their future.
- Choosing and forming a business entity, such as an LLC or corporation
- Operating agreements and shareholder agreements
- Succession planning for family-owned businesses
- Coordinating business interests with your estate plan
